EAGE is an international professional association that aims to bring together people with a common interest in geoscience, foster research, and educate and inspire young people through its activities and events. The association provides a global network of professional and academic people involved in (or studying) geophysics, petroleum exploration, geology, reservoir engineering, mining and mineral exploration, civil engineering, tunneling, and environmental matters.
EAGE operates two divisions: the Oil & Gas Geoscience Division and the Near Surface Geoscience Division. The members of EAGE have a broad range of backgrounds and interests, including, but not limited to, the following:
Geophysics: the study of the earth's dynamics, structure, and processes. Geology: the study of the earth and its materials. Reservoir engineering: the design, construction, and operation of oil and gas production and storage facilities. Mining: the exploration for, and production of, metals. Environmental science and engineering: the study of the effects of human activities on the environment.
